Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel to join our executive team. The General Counsel will be a key advisor to the company, providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of matters, overseeing legal and compliance functions, and ensuring that Nursa operates within the bounds of the law.
Responsibilities :
- Legal Strategy and Advice :
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support Nursa's business objectives.
- Provide expert legal advice to the executive team on a variety of issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Team Leadership :
- Lead and manage the legal and compliance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Contract Negotiation and Management :
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal standards.
- Work closely with various departments to mitigate legal risks associated with contractual agreements.
- Employment Law and Compliance :
- Advise on employment-related matters, including hiring practices, employee relations, and terminations.
- Ensure Nursa's compliance with relevant laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes that may impact the company.
- Litigation Management :
- Manage and collaborate with external legal counsel on litigation matters.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize legal risks and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Regulatory Compliance :
- Stay current on industry regulations and work closely with the compliance team to ensure Nursa's adherence to applicable laws.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to mitigate risks associated with regulatory changes.
- Policy Development :
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and update company policies to ensure legal compliance and ethical standards.
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar.
- X years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on corporate law, employment law, etc.
- Proven leadership experience in managing legal and compliance teams.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
