Accounting Manager in Novi, MI (Onsite Position)
Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our construction company in Novi, Michigan.
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, managing financial activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
This position will be fully onsite at our Novi location.
Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting and Analysis :
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct regular financial reviews, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify areas of improvement and support decision-making.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management :
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections.
Maintain vendor and customer relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and ensure timely payments and receivables collection.
General Ledger and Month-End Close :
Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, adjustments, and financial reporting deadlines.
Compliance and Audit Support :
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in audits, both internal and external, by providing documentation, explanations, and support during audit processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
- Proven experience (5 years) in accounting roles, preferably in the construction industry or related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and GAAP.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (, QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint, etc.); proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
