Job Summary
Under general supervision, teach courses which will lead students to acquire specific skills, and Associate of Science degrees.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Following the standardized curriculum, effectively prepare and teach courses consistent with department, division, school, and college standards and expectations
2. With available college resources and staff assistance, develop, teach and supervise lab exercises and experiments pertinent to the curriculum and level of instruction
3. Assess and maintain records of student performance
4. Distribute, and adhere to current course outlines and / or syllabi
5. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited
6. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to industry as well as to the Division, School, and College mission and values
7. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration
8. Demonstrate depth of understanding of specific standards related to the subject being taught as well as industry practices
9. Support College policies

Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization2.
Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators3. Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments4.
Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards5. Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades6.
Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance7. Informs students of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines8.
Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment9. Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy10.
Maintains professional and collegial behavior11. Handles / responds to student concerns / complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1 2 days)12.
Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and / or College procedure13. Completes all required employee trainings14.
Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines15. Provides ADA accommodations as requested
16. Other job related duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Qualified applicant will have a Utah State Journeyman’s License, or equivalent substantial knowledge and experience, and a minimum of 6 years of industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
The ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
