About the Role : As the Sr. Director of Supply Chain Central Services, you will support inbound transportation and lead all centralized supply chain & logistics activities for Grocery Outlet's unique operating model.
You will support our growing business by centrally governing key elements of our supply chain and logistics operations to allow the regional fulfillment centers to focus on daily execution.
You will create and execute the strategy around centralized processes to drive consistency across the brand while maintaining our family-oriented collaborative culture.
The Sr. Director of Supply Chain Central Services will have one direct report (Sr. Logistics Manager) and will report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Responsibilities Include :
- Inbound Transportation :
- Work with Sr. Logistics Manager on inbound planning processes and improvements
- Carrier Partnerships :
- Analyze and make recommendations around carrier rates, capacity management and routing guide maintenance
- Build and maintain relationships, conducting quarterly carrier business reviews (tender acceptance, on time service, lane review, rate / assessorial, etc)
- Last Mile Route Planning & Fleet Management :
- Initiate RFP for lights out last mile route optimization / planning software
- Lead rollout of centralization of route planning utilizing the new platform to support Independent Operators with standardizing and optimizing split partner processes as the company continues to grow
- Build a team that supports store order cut off times across the network, warehouse order selecting schedules, local last mile fleet requirements and special store planning considerations
- Incorporate transportation accounting elements to ensure paperless audit and settlement
- Standardize fleet spec's and centrally negotiate all fleet services (maintenance, fuel, compliance, fleet tech, warrantee, etc)
- Centrally process all fleet invoicing with local reference / coding, innovation mandate
- Supply Chain Control Tower Platform :
- Stand up first mile and last mile visibility platform to inform all supply chain stakeholders of status of inbound PO's and store deliveries
- Analyze and make recommendations for process improvements around usage of FourKites
- Customer Care :
- Manage internal ticketing system (iCare) to collect and respond to operator inquiries related to supply chain execution while maintaining the SLA commitments
- Supply Chain Asset Management :
- Centrally manage contracts from all vendors providing services to all warehouses, delivery, fleet including office paper, shrink wrap, labels, pallets, MHE, other services / consumables
- Leveraging scale of corporate buy across all sites
- Determine pallet management strategy with pooled pallets and reusable pallets while centrally managing all invoicing with local reference / coding
About the Pay :
- Base Salary Range : $160,000 - $185,000 annual

- 5+ years' experience leading central services or center of excellence at a growing company
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced start up like environment
- Experience facilitating the roll out of a centralization platform

- Highly organized and able to balance multiple timelines, priorities and teams with ease while being able to flex and pivot to meet the needs of the business
- Experience establishing centralized supply chain operations from the ground up (supporting regional operations, leveraging technology, central warehouse and transportation / fleet administration, establishing and fostering carrier partnerships)
- A strong people leader with a proven track record of building and developing teams
