Job Overview
The CORE Manager is a key central role within AltaMed’s Community Organizing and Research Engagement (CORE) team and reports directly to the Director / AVP of CORE.
AltaMed’s CORE Team was established within the AltaMed Institute for Health Equity as an evidence-based immigrant centered community driven process framework to advance health equity and social justice, in which community residents and patients are engaged as partners in addressing social determinants of health and underlying inequities.
The CORE Manager is responsible for the oversight of strategic community engagement activities that include organizing and mobilizing communities with the goal of contributing to building research evidence for the impact of community engagement in health equity initiatives.
The CORE Manager oversees strategies and initiatives co-implemented with community members to design, develop and execute policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes around community-prioritized issues.
The CORE Manager organizes community members to identify priorities, develop action strategies, and evaluate impact of PSE work.
This role directly supervises a team of project coordinators and community health organizers to implement outreach and engagement activities aligned with strategic community priorities.
Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or related field required.
2. Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Health or related field and an emphasis in Community Health is highly preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in community health is required.
4. Minimum of 3 years in supervisory experience preferred.
5. Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred due to population served.
