What you will do
The primary role of the HVAC Service Development Sales Manager will be leading a team of Service Sales professionals in growing the service business for South Region (TN, AR, OK, LA, KY, Evansville IN, North, South and Houston TX).
In this position, there will be a focus on strategic HVAC Service Sales. You will make key decisions aimed at actualizing the Johnson Controls corporate mission to exceed the ever-increasing expectations of our customer.
How you will do it
Manage the area business through the market teams in the sale, development, delivery, and performance assurance of JCI (Just communicate) offerings to new and existing customers within their local, designated customer base.
Analyze local markets and current business performance to ensure strategies are effective in meeting planned profits and recommend adjustments to the plan when necessary.
Develop and deliver long and short-term strategic objectives for profitability and growth; develop business plans and budgets.
Works to grow vertical market sales.
Partner with local Market leadership (Market General Manager, Sales & Operations)
Will lead a team that both direct reports up and is dotted line to the market.
Understand the business environment within targeted markets, including growth trends, legislation, and competitors; drive cash flow through effective execution of payment terms, proactive billing, and collections.
Establish plan for staffing levels and take action to achieveoptimum resource levels.
Develop effective leaders and high-performance teams utilizing available training and development tools; build a culture of performance management and individual accountability.
Establish and maintain personal long-term relationships with strategically important customers to ensure customer satisfaction and secure new business with acceptable, profitable margin.
Conduct regular business reviews to examine business performance; lead initiatives that drive improvement and proactive resolution of customer issues.
Actively work to increase market penetration across JCI offerings by expanding the scope of work within existing projects and securing new projects.
Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, demonstrating a high degree of safety awareness for all Johnson Controls employees and worksite-based subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local legal requirements and operate the Area with the highest business ethics.
What we look for
Required
BA degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing
5 years' experience of sales within the building HVAC systems industry
Proven record of accomplishment of success working in a matrix organization, dealing with conflict resolution and change management, achieving win-win results
Must have excellent communication and written skills
Demonstrated background dealing with customer service issues
Time management, ability to prioritize effectively based on financial impact to the desired business goals
