The HR Generalist will assist in administering and overseeing the daily functions of the HR department including internal acquisitions, benefits and leave, compliance, safety, and company policies and practices.
To be successful in this role, the HR Generalist must be able to proactively problem solve, display effective time-management and maintain Skillwork’s mission and values through employee interactions.
The individual in this role is trusted with great responsibility and confidentiality and will be held to high standards of performance.
The ideal person filling this position is directly responsible for helping to create and foster the first-of-its kind business model in a fast-moving start-up company that values strong character, high energy, and work / life balance.
Responsibilities
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance in accordance with company practices and federal, state and local laws and regulations.
This may include, but is not limited to, safety training and OSHA regulations, tax obligations, payroll laws, and employment law regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
- Assists in the review of company policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and / or supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, productivity, occupational health and safety, training and development.
- Performs verification of employment requests as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven work experience within the staffing industry, a human resources role or related field.
- Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly proficient organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and management systems.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills with the ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience with Human Resources, Customer Service / Hospitality, Psychology, Business Administration / Management.
- Proven experience within a Human Resource role.
