Registered Nurse Telemetry - Travel - (Tele RN)

StartDate : 10 / 28 / 2024 Available Shifts : 12 N Pay Rate : $1443.25 - $1590.52

Facility is no longer accepting candidates within a 50-mile radius. Do NOT submit candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the hospital.

ALL RTO requests must be in the packet at the time of submission. Anything sent after, will not be approved Position Description : Neuro Acute Care - Neuro and / or ENT exp highly preferred.

Must have experience with PCAs, assisting with LPs and certain stroke diagnosis. 12H Nights, 7p-7a. EOW / Every other holiday, no on-call.

Will float as needed to like units. Ratio : IMC / side 1 : 3, M / S Side 1 : 4. Must have active MD / Compact license in packet at time of submission, no temp licenses allowed.

Required Upon Submission : 2+ years of telemetry experience required, prior travel preferred. Certifications Required : BLS and ACLS required, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Submission Packet must show # of beds, Trauma Level and EMR on their Work History or they will be dropped. MD / compact license is required for all submissions to be active, visible through nursys.

COVID vaccine required. ONLY Medical Declination accepted, Must have signed and authorized documentation from Physician in packet or submission will be dropped.

UMMS does not accept Religious Declinations. Flu Season has ended at UMMS and vaccines are no longer required. IVS to Interview and Manager to Offer.

Winter holidays are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Summer holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

Patient Population (Diagnoses) : OMFS (Oral Maxillofacial Surgery); ENT, Oral Cancers, Stroke General, Mandible Fractures, Neuro, Neuro surgical plastics, post craini, laryngectomies, trachs Age Range : 18 yrs and up Special Equipment : (For example : IV Pumps : Type;

Invasive Monitoring; Monitors : Type; ECMO; Ventilators : Type; ABG : Type) Heparin, antibiotics, PCAs, Alaris Pumps, Telemetry, Patients could be on every 2-4 hr.

  • Y ? N Who manages ventilators : RT- no vents on this unit, but lots of trachs, Established CPAP and BiPap Unit Specific Procedures and Protocols : (For example : Drips;
  • Infusions; Phlebotomy; Starting IVs; EKGs; Transports; Weaning; Nebulizer to Inhaler; Starting IVs, performing venipuncture, Performing EKGs;

Discontinuing sheaths) Nurses administer nebulizer treatments. Additional Unit Specific Information : The patients are acute neuro population and we use lots of team work, Average LOS is 2.

2 days, fast turnover of patients, will discharge patients and fill with admission immediately, and large amount of discharge teaching especially for trachs and pegs.

Stroke CEUs required for Joint Commission certifications. RNs must be comfortable with PCAs and required monitoring as well as familiar with epidurals.

Phlebotomy skills required. Team in house for AM labs and routine labs. Outside of this RN is responsible for PIV insertion and phlebotomy.
