We are seeking a dynamic team leader to help us drive efficiency, process improvement, and technologically capable solutions in complex and challenging classified IT environments.

Our team is responsible for the vital mission of deploying and maintaining Multi-IS Plans Windows Infrastructure and high performance computing (HPC) environments in support of classified computing for the Air and Missile Defense Sector.

As a leader in our Windows team, you will have the opportunity to work with and guide hardworking team members in implementing new and advanced technologies.

As a Windows System Administrator you will...

  • be responsible for the effective and efficient utilization of the Windows team to meet sector needs
  • prioritize and manage workloads
  • be a project leader for a diverse array technical work
  • propose novel strategies to a wide variety of given tasks
  • ensure compliance requirements are being met
  • collaborate extensively with users and team members
  • be instrumental in creating a culture of constant improvement

Qualifications

You will meet our minimum qualifications if you...

  • Possess a BS degree (Computer Science preferred) or additional 5 years' experience.
  • Have 3+ years' of related IT experience, including systems administration experience.
  • Are experienced in communicating with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Have or are able to obtain an IAT Level II Certification including though not limited to Security+ CE Certification.
  • Are willing to work a significant portion of the time in a closed area.
  • Hold or are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance.

If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.

  • Have knowledge of classified computer facility operational procedures and NISPOM, DCSA, RMF and / or other DOD security regimes.
  • Have experience with heterogeneous Windows and Linux environments and data center operations including infrastructure, systems monitoring, and computer clusters of 100+ computers.
  • Are familiar with DevOps practices and implementation
  • Have demonstrable large scale project management skills

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education / training and skill level with consideration for internal parity.

For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked.

APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and / or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.

$90,000 Annually
