Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Drafter to join our team at our facility located in Loveland, CO, 80538. As an Electrical Drafter, you will prepare the layout and design of electrical power distribution systems and a variety of electrical design, application and checking duties pertaining to schematics modifications or adaptation of previous designs to meet specific customer requirements or modernize designs.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and checking of single lines, panel / cable schedules, cable tray and conduit layouts, schematics and wiring diagrams, grounding, lighting, electrical heat tracing and installation details.
Drafts and designs electrical control systems and interface into existing control systems; creates drawing packages including electrical schematics, panel layouts, device layouts, control and power wiring drawings and safety circuits using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software.
Under the direction of engineering personnel and in collaboration with NC Programmers, work from design schematics, sketches, specifications and engineering data to define design of new machines, sections, systems / units, and any related alterations to other structures / parts.
Prepare layouts using CAD tools; evaluate design to verify fit and function with due consideration for manufacturing feasibility, cost and operation.
Make simple calculations of specific electrical components such as fuses, starters, overload relays and conductors; redesign controls or units for changes in operating or design requirements as needed.
Prepare design sketches and specifications on major features, preliminary layout, bill of material, instructions or other data;
maintain product / project files.
Analyze and review requests for engineering changes using task / check lists and other design documents; direct related drawing changes;
adherence to project milestones with accurate execution.
Consult with respective engineering specialists, vendors or catalogs to incorporate and specify pertinent electrical parts;
prepare drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams in proper form.
Support and collaborate with other departments; assist with manufacturing or procurement problems; maintain supplier interface;
assist with and provide guidance on check trial runs; assist shop with interpretation of schematics, wiring diagrams and other related engineering documents.
May make field service trips to customer locations to offer technical assistance during installation and operations to identify areas of opportunity for manufacturing or operational improvement.
May lead, coach or mentor less experienced team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Travel is an essential element of your ability to expand knowledge, support our customers, and support business growth needs.
Travel could be to company sponsored training, customers’ facilities, or other BW facilities both domestic and international.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Drafting)
- 2-year associate degree in Drafting
- Must have 2 years relevant Electrical Design experience
- PC skills in a Windows environment
- Willingness to travel at 0% - 10% annually
