Job Description Summary

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer - is responsible for meeting business goals, driving programs, and implementing processes for the coating cell.

In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute tactical & strategic objectives, and drive results that impact short-term and some long-term business goals

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Engineer creative solutions to business challenges
  • Support a team of experienced operators within the Buckets cell.
  • Work closely with product Design Engineers to help make our product better through improving the manufacturing process
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods
  • Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets
  • Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and / or equipment
  • Support EHS projects in cell and ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy / strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and / or interdependent production cycles.

Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.

Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering / material science from an accredited university (or a high school diploma / GED and at least 4 years of manufacturing or operations experience)

Desired Characteristics

  • At least 2 additional years of experience in manufacturing or operations
  • Prior experience to and knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Ability to plan communicate and execute

Pay Transparency

The starting base pay range for this position is $80,000 - 106,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus / variable incentive compensation / equity. This posting is expected to close on September 3, 2024, or thereafter.

  • The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
