Estimator

We are seeking amotivated and detailoriented Junior Estimator for Structural SteelProjects to produce cost estimates and proposals for bid projectsas well as cost estimates for change orders on awarded projects.

Theideal candidate will assist in developing and implementing materialand labor takeoffs from structural and architectural designdrawings manage projects under supervision and support theestimatingteam.

KeyResponsibilities :

• Producecost estimates and proposals for structural steel bid projects andchangeorders.
• Assistin developing and implementing a plan for material and labortakeoffs from designdrawings.
• Supportcomplex projects as part of the estimatingteam.
• Reviewverify and distribute project drawings and specifications toestimators.
• Maintainand manage subcontractor / supplierrelationships.
• Obtainpricing for specialty items not in the estimating softwaredatabase.
• Generateestimate summaries and cost recap sheets inExcel.
• Assistin developing preliminary connection designs based on membercapacities andloads.
• Collaboratewith the Production Department to review and update estimatingstandards.
• Workovertime when required to meet biddeadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelorsdegree in Engineering Construction Management Architecture or arelated technicalfield.
• 3years of related experience in the steelindustry.
• Familiaritywith steel fabrication processes welding andconstructability.
• Abilityto read analyze and interpret complex design documents andspecifications.
• Strongtime management skills and the ability to handle multiple projectssimultaneously.
• Teamplayer with excellent interpersonalskills.
• Proficiencyin Excel and preliminary connectiondesign.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management,Architecture, or a related technical field. 3+ years of relatedexperience in the steel industry.

Familiarity with steelfabrication processes, welding, and constructability. Ability toread, analyze, and interpret complex design documents andspecifications.

Strong time management skills and the ability tohandle multiple projects simultaneously. Team player with excellentinterpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Excel and preliminaryconnection design.
