Overview
This is a salary position that will aid the Head Golf Professional in overseeing the daily operations of the Golf Course.
This position handles the scheduling and management of the outside staff as well as doing lessons / clinics / camps. This position will promote hospitality and goodwill with all customers and staff, remembering that customer service is our number one priority to ensure a 4-star golf experience.
Appearance should always be professional, and personality should be upbeat and friendly. FLSA Classification for this position is Non-Exempt.
Experience Required
- PGA Member or Apprentice preferred
- Knowledge of golf and capable of playing golf at a skilled level
- 3-4 years’ experience in golf industry
- Excellent computer and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Must be able to multi-task and work flexible hours (including nights and weekends)
- Proficient with computerized point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office products
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
- Maintain the confidentiality of company and employee information
- Assist in enforcing employee handbook policies and dress code policies
- Assist in the planning, organizing and coordinating of a variety of golf activities including leagues, outings and special events
- Assist in overseeing and directing the daily operations of the outside services including carts, range, parking and general appearance of the outside facilities
- Oversee merchandising process, which includes placing orders, receiving and displaying product, cleaning and organizing displays, sales promotions, and monthly merchandise inventories
- Oversee the E-Commerce website, assuring that item listings are current, accurate, and in-stock
- Ensure Golf Shop staff are informed about product details and sales promotions
- Professionally and diplomatically respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns
- Assist with managing play, ensure guest check-in and fee collection
- Communicate effectively with the guests and staff members to aid in daily operations and ensure coordination between all departments
- Requires contact with others (face-to-face, telephone, e-mail)
- Requires moving around, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and repetitive movement
- Requires working inside and outside in any weather condition
- May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 50 pounds
