Job Title : Fluids / Mechanical Design Engineer Tubing
Join our team as a Fluids / Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Tubing. You'll be responsible for designing various pressure vessels and fluid lines for cryogenic and space applications.
This role is perfect for someone with a passion for spacecraft structural / environmental loads development / validation
Responsibilities :
- Designing various types of pressure vessels to fit vehicle space allocation and integration envelope
- Creating fluid lines and flex elements for cryogenic and space application
- Generating drawings, including tolerance and GD&T setup
- Owning the design release cycle, including drawing release and DFM reviews
- Conducting analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft pressure vessels
- Developing, refining, and validating Finite Element Models
Skills Required :
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering
- 2-5 years of experience in structural dynamics and loads prediction / validation, and finite element modeling
- Solid understanding of structural static / dynamic fundamentals
- Experience with physics-based analytical methods for solving static and dynamic structural problems
- Proficiency in using Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Opti-struct for analysis
- Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships
Preferred Skills :
- Experience in COPV Pressure Vessel, Metallic Pressure Vessel, Fluids Lines, and Flex Elements design and analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowable development
- Familiarity with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater
- Experience with Human spaceflight and composites
- Familiarity with AIAA S-080, S-081, EJMA Ninth and Tenth Edition
