Shift : 12-hour night shifts, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM; Every Other Weekend on Friday and Saturday
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Experience : Minimum of 2 years
License : Required
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP
Must-Have : C-section experience, ability to circulate
Job Description :
- Work within a birthing center that includes labor and delivery, mother-baby, and postpartum care
- Handle 150 180 births per month on average
- Follow AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios : 1-2 in Labor & Delivery, 3-4 couplets in Mother-Baby
- Use Centricity for perinatal electronic medical records; EPIC for other charting
- Support available from a free charge nurse, one surgical tech, and a patient care assistant per shift
- Work includes managing drips such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin
- Emergency support available from in-house OB / GYN, neonatologist, IV team, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy
- Required to float within the mother-baby and postpartum unit as needed
- Attend floor-specific orientation and training, including EPIC class
- Serve patients 33 weeks and above with various high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia, diabetes, psych / social issues, and positive substance use
