As a Trainer, you will need to maintain a level of EXCELLENT customer service and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner.

You need to be attentive to detail and able to take instructions well and maintain a positive attitude in all interactions.

It is important to exhibit cooperation and teamwork with ALL departments, and to follow and uphold Puppy Paws Standard Operating Procedures SOP’s.

It’s all about love and positive reinforcement at Puppy Paws. The training team have a passion for dogs and a gentle touch.

Full Time Position

Monday - Friday 8am - 4 : 30pm

Saturday’s & Evenings as needed to conduct group training

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and interact with dogs of all sizes with Comfort & Confidence.
  • Maintaining a safe and positive experience for the dogs by upholding our Dog Safety SOP.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand and / or walk for extended periods of time.
  • A consistent work ethic.
  • Clear, Consistent, Communication.

Job Duties

  • Receive and place calls to clients for the purpose of scheduling.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, i.e. referral documentation, previous medical history received, etc.
  • Assist all clients by providing necessary instructions, information and invoices, and schedule all future appointments
  • Utilize PetExec computer systems to document and communicate with clients and teammates
  • Excellent customer service skills and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner
  • Advocate for pets through client education
  • Conduct Temperament Tests for new clients
  • Engage and interact with the Puppy Paws team and dogs in the play areas daily on behavior and training techniques and dog safety.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates
  • Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect
  • Give tours of the facility
  • Work off-site events
  • Conduct group sessions and 1 : 1 training
  • Effectively deliver formal presentations
  • Observe and evaluate dog behaviors to determine the best training methods or solutions to behaviors
  • Possession of organizational skills
  • Critical thinking Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations
