Position Description

This role will be responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to evaluate accuracy and completeness and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.

Responsibilities

Accounting :

• Maintenance of general ledger for various operating entities utilizing Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) accounting software
• Preparation of monthly closings, including bank reconciliation, journal entries, and account analysis
• Oversight / review of accounts payable function
• Development and maintenance of various reports utilizing the Microsoft Dynamics report writer (Management Reporter)
• Maintenance of fixed asset records (Sage Fixed Assets)

Financial Reporting :

• Preparation of monthly financial reporting including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows
• Preparation of entity management reports (monthly / quarterly), including financial forecasting and variance analysis
• Review and analyze monthly financial statements including associated data for certain manufacturing companies

Operations Management :

• Monitor / implement financial policies and internal control procedures
• Analyze and report on key performance metrics
• Interaction with operating personnel

Tax Reporting :

• Preparation of federal and state tax reporting including quarterly tax estimates
• Tracking of book / tax differences

Annual Budget :

Preparation and coordination of entity budgets, interfacing with the entity managers

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred, but not required
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical ability
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains), A / P Solutions (Concur), and Consolidation / Reporting tools (Planful) a plus
