Schedule : Monday-Friday 6 : 00 AM-2 : 30 PM

Warehouse is not climate controlled

Position Summary :

Under direct supervision, a Material Handler in warehouse operations is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the processing of returned / recalled items on behalf of a retailer or manufacturer.

The Material Handler position requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures specific to this position.

Primary Duties :

  • Helping to Scan products when needed
  • Lift and move boxes to and / or from the scanning lines
  • Open boxes (or other containers) of returned / recalled items with a box cutter
  • Visually match or identify the Return Authorization (RA) information on the outside of the container to the paperwork and specific items within the container to verify that it matches
  • Follow instructions for handling any discrepancies noted
  • Prepare paperwork for scanning by smoothing folds and removing staples; enter additional information to the system as prompted
  • Place items processed into a tote; prepare a placard with RA and tote barcode for scanning process
  • When scanning process is complete, add totes to a pallet, label the pallet for storage; move pallets to storage as directed
  • Stock empty totes at scanning lines and remove trash from scanning area as directed
  • Always maintain a clean and orderly workstation and area
  • If forklift certified, operate forklift for movement of order / products on the processing floor, if assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School diploma (or its equivalent) or minimum of two year’s work experience in a warehouse or production job; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position
  • Able to follow standard operation and safety procedures
  • Able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Able to push a cart or hand truck up to 100 yards; able to use a pallet jack
  • Able to grasp and use box cutters and seal zip lock bags
  • Able to work under time pressure and meet production goals; able to work more than 8 hours per day (over-time) as needed
  • Able to assist with other operations within the warehouse, as needed
  • Able to handle hazardous waste materials with appropriate safety measures

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands or arms.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear and read instructions on a computer monitor and / or printed on paper.
  • Regularly required to stand, kneel or stoop, and lift and / or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Regularly required to view items at an extremely close range and must be able to adjust and readjust focus.
  • Regularly required to remain in a standing position more than 2 hours at a time.
