CornerStone TTS is seeking an Engineering Manager for full-time employment.
Role :
The Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Senior VP of Engineering and Manufacturing, is tasked with overseeing engineering teams and processes.
This position collaborates closely with multiple departments, including Sales, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality / Supplier Management, and Production, to ensure cohesive engineering operations throughout the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Lead multidisciplinary teams focused on hardware and software development in a low-volume, high-mix production environment for electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
- Manage systems design, integrating off-the-shelf instrumentation, custom software, hardware, PCBAs, cabling, and signal routing into cohesive solutions.
- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations, including hiring, scheduling, resource allocation, workflow management, and staff development through training and certification.
- Provide technical leadership, including hands-on contributions to software architecture, while managing key engineering projects.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with customer technical and quality specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project progress, contract performance, and design reviews.
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering processes and procedures, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Manage configuration control processes and update software architecture methodologies and standards.
- Support business development by contributing to project proposals, including material and labor estimates.
- Create and execute a strategic technical roadmap for the engineering department, covering both short-term and five-year objectives.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and labor forecasts, maintaining alignment with projected revenue targets.
- Uphold high levels of customer satisfaction through effective project delivery and communication.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams in a systems integration environment, with a focus on complex software, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with a meticulous approach to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think innovatively and resourcefully.
- Ability to work independently, managing risks and making informed decisions.
- Driven and results-oriented with a proactive approach to achieving objectives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to influence and drive change within a growing team.
- Must be a US Person as defined by US legal requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards and ERP / MRP systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of DOD, Government, or Aerospace contracts and regulations is a plus.
- Expertise in software development environments like LabVIEW, C, C++, or Python, with the ability to design distributed, object-oriented software systems.
Familiarity with TestStand, databases, and data acquisition hardware is also highly valued.
- Strong project management abilities, with experience following PMI’s PMBOK guidelines.
