Job Summary
Performs all duties relating to the transportation of ambulatory and / or wheelchair bound individuals in accordance with department and system policies and procedures and standards.
Can function also in other positions such as Discharge Liaison and back-up Dispatch.
Accountabilities
Verify operational readiness of vehicle(s) and equipment. 10%
Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s), both inside and outside.10%
Respond promptly to calls received from the Dispatch Center. 10%
Operate vehicle(s) in a safe, courteous and efficient manner, focusing on safety and following state driving laws. 10%
Interact in an appropriate manner with the individual begin transported, member of their family and other health professionals. 10%
Prepare written documentation in a complete, timely and accurate manner. 10%
Function at a high level of efficiency. 10%
Demonstrate skill proficiency on an annual basis. 10%
Attends staff meetings, complies with employee health requirements and completed mandatory employee training programs. 10%
Operate as a driver on an ambulance team as needed to meet volume demands. 10%
Education
High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma / highest degree earned
Licensure
Valid driver’s license, an acceptable five-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart, and a certificate of auto insurance.
In Lieu Of
In lieu of a SC Drivers license, a valid state driver’s license, from a state other than South Carolina, may be accepted if primary residence is not SC.
