Position Description : *The Physician Assistant program at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, Department of Health Sciences, is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join our academic program.

This fixed-term, open-rank position is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, engaged PA to become a part of our newly accredited academic program.

This position also offers the possibility of serving as Director of Pre-Clinical Education based on interest and experience.

The position is a 12-month, full-time Assistant / Associate Professor of PA Studies and serves as Principal Faculty position in its Department of Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : * Didactic instructional preparation including engaging classroom instruction, varied assessment, ongoing curriculum evaluation and modification, student progress monitoring, and student advising.

• Assisting with the admissions process as well as the design and implementation of student orientation.* Engage in student and alumni mentoring efforts, recruitment and retention initiatives, ongoing accreditation compliance, general program support, and service to the profession.
• Clinical practice 1-2 days a week.Assistant / Associate Professor of PA Studies and Principal Faculty in Physician Assistant Studies report to the Department Chair and Program Director of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program.

• Minimum of three years professional clinical practice experience involving direct patient care* Certification by the appropriate certifying body* Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina* Dynamic and innovative educator with strong communication skills*Qualifications and Experience : *Prefer a minimum two years of clinical experience in physician assistant education.
