Senior Human Resources Manager
Work Location : Based in Anaheim, CA. Exemplary candidates in Sacramento, Santa Clara, or San Diego may be considered. Hybrid work schedule available.
May require occasional travel throughout California.
Term : Full-time, occasional evening and weekends required
Position Status : Exempt
Pay Range : $90,000-105,000 / year commensurate with experience
Reports to : CAIR-CA Chief Operating Officer
Requirements : Must have authorization to work in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE : The California chapter of CAIR (CAIR-CA) is looking for a passionate and talented individual to fill the Senior Human Resources Manager position.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Senior Human Resources Manager will lead the organization's human resources practices and objectives to support an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, and goal attainment.
They will be responsible for planning, developing, and leading all aspects of HR including recruitment, retention, and performance management, compensation and benefits management, training and development, employee relations and compliance.
They will serve as a strategic thought partner to management in developing a staff-oriented organizational culture that is reflective of CAIR-CA's core values, all while ensuring that HR efforts remain aligned with established operational and strategic plans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Partner with management to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Oversee and ensure the standardization and implementation of the recruitment process including streamlining the process, creating best practices, and providing recruitment strategies.
- Develop and lead training for hiring managers on best practices and support them throughout the recruitment process.
- Supervise department staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Develop, revise, and recommend personnel policies and procedures. Conduct regular reviews of the employee handbook.
- Ensure compliance with updated job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Oversee leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork.
- Oversee employee compensation and benefits programs by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends and proposing programs to management.
- Manage all insurance policies and renewals including health, dental, retirement, and workers compensation plans.
- Develop and administer human resources plans and procedures that relate to the organization's personnel.
- Assess employee morale through various methods including conducting the annual employee engagement survey and advising management on strategies to improve employee morale.
- Responsible for development and execution of employee initiatives including an Employee Wellness Program and Employee Safety Program.
- Provide support and guidance to management and operations staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Lead and oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Manage the annual performance review process and ensure managers are competent in assessing and evaluating employees.
- Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Support and develop trainings for managers on handling employee grievances, investigations, disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution, performance management and coaching.
- Develop and provide training to staff on Human Resources topics.
- Recommend tools and trainings regarding career development.
- Assess and streamline new employee orientation and onboarding process.
- Oversee exit interviews process.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;
and participating in professional societies.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Seven years of HR experience with at least five years of HR managerial experience, preferably at a nonprofit organization, may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- At minimum five years of HR experience with at least three years of HR managerial experience; preferably at a nonprofit organization.
- PHR, HRCI or SHRM Certification.
- Experience coaching managers on HR issues, addressing performance issues, terminations, promotions, etc.
- Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software and / or Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Commitment to social justice and CAIR's mission and values.
- Strong technical skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertinent to the HR function.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, rigorously detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
- High level of professionalism, dedication to outstanding customer service, and composure under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to train or make presentations to large groups and the ability to prepare comprehensive written reports.
- Adept at problem-solving and investigating complaints.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize and work effectively to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION :
- Compensation in the range of $90,000-105,000 / year, commensurate with experience
- Fully paid Kaiser Health Insurance and Blue Cross PPO Dental Plan for employee and dependents
- 3% retirement matching contribution
- 12 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 12 vacation days
