Telephone Operator/PBX Full Time Varied

Responsibilities While practicing Service Excellence skills, the Communications Operator assumes the responsibility and accountability for providing efficient and competent routing of all calls.

Operates Hospital Switchboard and Communications Network for Hospital. Monitors alarms, Security Radio, and Fire Panel. Dispatches Security, Transport, Respiratory, Disaster and Code Teams.

Follows directions in accordance with Manatee Memorial Hospital policies, procedures, standards and philosophy and provides professional leadership and support to health team members.

Ability to integrate Communication theory into practice using Communications process. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to problem solve and works effectively with patients, families, general public, staff and physicians. Ability to plan and organize and work effectively in stressful situations.

Ability to work independently and in teams. Good utilization of computer and other tools needed for job performance. Must be able to vary work schedule, must be able to be on call.
