Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will provide prehensive speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' munication needs within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, and munication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, focusing on speech, language, voice, and fluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom and home activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Educate and train school staff and parents on strategies to support students' munication skills.
- Maintain accurate records, including progress notes, reports, and other required documentation.

Requirements :
- Education : Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure : Current Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Certification : Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Illinois State Board of Education Certification : Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Clearances : Must pass a criminal background check and provide a current tuberculosis (TB) test clearance as required by Illinois schools.
- Experience : Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills : Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with augmentative and alternative munication (AAC) devices.
- Familiarity with school-based therapy models and the IEP process.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Working Conditions :
- The position requires working in a school environment, which may involve travel between schools within the district.
- May require lifting or moving equipment used in therapy sessions.
