Job Summary :
The Center for Health Behavior and Health Education seeks to improve health through interdisciplinary research into behaviors and psychosocial factors affecting disease management and health outcomes.
Our team develops and tests interventions to support self-management among adults with chronic conditions like diabetes.
This position will assist with research projects addressing behavioral and psychosocial determinants of health outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have high-quality skills with regard to customer service. Prior research experience and / or a bachelor’s degree are preferred.
This is a full-time position which may include a hybrid schedule (at least 1 day per week in office). The job will include :
- Contacting potential research participants about research studies for recruitment and retention
- Collecting and entering data, executing efforts to ensure data quality
- Assists in ensuring adherence to protocols, appropriate regulations, and deadlines
- Most hours must be during regular business hours with flexibility for some early evening hours and weekends.
- Opportunities to co-author peer-reviewed publications and abstracts are available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows established protocols to recruit, screen, enroll, and follow-up with research participants.
- Exemplary customer services skills - The candidate must be comfortable calling patients to recruit them for a study, coordinate study procedures, and answer study-related questions.
The candidate must also be comfortable meeting with patients to administer intervention protocols or research protocols.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills / willingness to develop excellent communication skills to facilitate research processes for multi-site, multi-team clinical trials.
Openly shares information with others and communicates in a clear and courteous manner.
- Performs medical chart review to determine eligibility status and collect study data.
- Ensures patient consent forms are completed.
- Inputs data from source documentation and / or participant interaction into study databases with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
- Examines data and records to ensure integrity and compliance with protocol. Cleans data as needed.
- Adheres to timeline of required study procedures to ensure study retention goals are met.
- Prepares and ships study materials to meet protocol deadlines.
- Assists study coordinators with monitoring compliance with protocol and regulations.
- Reports all adverse reactions according institutional and project-related guidelines.
- Participates in research team meetings and regularly communicates the progress of patient recruitment and data collection.
- Collaborates with research team to achieve recruitment and retention goals.
- Assists in the preparation of documentation necessary to maintain studies’ good standing with the Institutional Review Board and / or study sponsor.
