Job Description :
The Research Operations Specialist supports a specific team of research enrollment specialists assisting with activities supporting clinical research and research studies at Intermountain Healthcare.
The Research Operations Specialist enrolls participants in research projects and assists with other research-related study duties in various research projects that further the goals of the Investigator and the Research Department.

This position educates, trains, coaches, problem solves and coordinates development of team members' skills and ensures employees have proper tools and knowledge to perform their jobs.
Provides opportunities for training and career development. On an annual basis, assists with development of team and individual goals.
Reviews goals with staff periodically. The Operations Specialist also assists the research team to enroll research participants via in-person, phone calls, mail-outs, and the Internet.
Understands and follows research protocols and provides appropriate documentation, including the collection, input, and maintenance of data in Intermountain and external databases.
Ensures the study team is following Code of Federal Regulations, Good Clinical Practice, FDA, IRB, NIH, NCI, CAP and / or other regulatory agency guidelines, seeking guidance or clarification from the Principal Investigator or Manager, as necessary.
Acts as a problem solver by utilizing available resources to research, facilitate, and resolve policy and procedural issues.
Edits and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet study criteria and completes them.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Demonstrated understanding of research methodologies and processes.
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex messages in a manner that is easily understandable.
- Experience using basic computer programs including word processing, database, spreadsheet applications, and email.
- Experience using research applications including RedCap, Clinical Trial Management Systems, IRB software, Sales Force, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Two years of research experience working with human subjects.
- Experience working in healthcare.
- Experience in a leadership role accountable for training and development.
- Customer service experience.
Physical Requirements :
- Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
- Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience : $21.98 - $33.48.
