Clinical Supervisor RN

Thesuccessful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the followingfunctions at a pace and level of performance consistent with theactual job performancerequirements

Report directly to the Warden / Facility Administrator orHealth Service Administrator for daily clinical operations withinthe medical department

Manage and supervise daily nursing / clinicalactivities.

Supervise nursing and non-licensed health careproviders in the performance of their duties and evaluate asprescribed by the facility and corporate policy.

• This includes, butis not limited to, training new employees; evaluating performanceand preparing written performance appraisals;
• listening tocomplaints and effectively resolving disputes or problems; takingcorrective or disciplinary action; developing work schedules forsubordinates;

and approving leaverequests.

Provide direct patient care as indicated within scopeof licensure; apply appropriate nursing skills in the care andtreatment ofinmates / residents.

Provide for adequate staffing at the facility; fill inas needed during periods of short staffing; may perform nursingduties including, but not limited to, executing physician’s orders,assisting physicians in examinations or treatment, dispensing andadministering medications, treating emergencies and screeningpatients for referrals, and performingintakes.

Perform triage and physicalassessments.

Perform and direct emergency care and procedures asneeded and call the Licensed Independent Provider for treatmentorders.

Qualifications :

Graduate from an accredited college or universitynursing program with a diploma / degree in nursing.

Must possess current licensure in the state ofemployment.

Twoyears nursing experience required.

Oneyear's supervisory experience preferred.

Avalid driver's license isrequired.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills andpossess a strong knowledge base of clinical nursing and basicprinciple / practices of management.

Must have a basic working knowledge of computer andofficeequipment.

Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 18 years of age.
