Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activities of the pharmacy technicians.
- Schedule and assign daily work assignments for pharmacy technicians and may perform the duties of a pharmacy technician.
- Oversee process improvement activities.
- Act as liaison between department and other hospital departments, physicians and external customers in matters relating to pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure that procedures and policies comply with organizational, federal, state and Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- One or more of the following required :
- Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education :
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree / Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
Bachelor's or equivalent 4 years of pharmacy work experience preferred in an inpatient pharmacy setting but not required
