Job Title : Training Coordinator
Department : Employer Relations
Reports To : Supervisor, Employer Services
Status : Exempt, non-union / non-management
Summary : The Training Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, and facilitates the Employer training activities. The Training Coordinator conducts sessions focused on the Vitech system, V3 ESS, and the Funds’ systems.
The Training Coordinator may also work with various departments to assist Employers and their employees. He / she may set up individualized training plans for an Employer or group training sessions.
Planning is an important part of the Training Coordinator’s responsibility. In order to identify and assess training needs within the Funds or for an Employer, the Training Coordinator may confer with managers and supervisors or conduct surveys.
He / she also will periodically evaluate training effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and make presentations to Employers via
- In person at the Funds’ site utilizing SmartBoard
- In person at the Employer’s site utilizing projector and Power Point Presentation
- JoinMe / Meet Me
- Conduct educational seminars and workshops on and off site with Employer groups;
- Implement a comprehensive communications plan that provides timely information to Employers about Trustees goals, and Funds initiative, actions and other valuable news, using multiple channels to deliver this information;
- Plan and design training programs to be used for Employer’s new hires that will work on Vitech V3 ESS system or other comparable systems EC1
- Plan and design training and retraining programs to be used for all Employers on the V3 ESS system
- Own (plan, design, develop, facilitate) certain Fund-wide training programs including but not limited to :
- Vitech V3 system
- Any other software or system used at the Funds’
- Work with Employers on Vitech V3 ESS issues as consultant and determine training needs of the employers
- Coordinate with department management the facilitation of Employer Focus Group meetings including scheduling, agenda preparation and taking notes
- Develop reports, schedules, and graphs for Employer training plan
- Work with various Funds’ departments
- Travel to employer sites, including out-of-state sites (up to 30% travel requirement)
- Work with Supervision in preparing training materials for employers
- Maintain and update material for Employer website
- Performs other relevant, related, or pertinent work or duties as requested by management
Technical / Interpersonal Skills :
Minimum experience, skills, certification and academic background necessary to perform the position :
- Good working knowledge of instructional design concepts and principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to produce and deliver quality training programs
- The training area is one of constant change. This position must be able to react positively to these developments and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training targeted to both new and existing employers and their employees
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management
- Self-motivated, independent worker
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal Supervisor guidance; authority to determine methods of operation
- Excellent analytical and research skills

Qualifications :
- Two to four years of experience in a training and development department in role of designer / developer or facilitator EC2
- Understanding of adult learning principles and their applications
- Training experience preferred
- Two-year college education (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- Flexibility
Education :
- Associates Degree in Public Relations / Communications (BA or BS preferred).
