Responsibilities
Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
Provide engineering / technical guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the areas of civil, structural and architectural engineering.
Support development phase of major project scope and EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) bid package which includes cost estimate, schedule, risk analysis, bid evaluation and contract development.
Participate in design reviews, drawing reviews, construction support, RFI (Request For Information) resolution, commissioning support, and project warranty support.
Much of the effort is to ensure compliance with project design criteria and specifications.
Provide on-site engineering support for construction and commissioning of projects.
Prepare thorough technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
Support accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
Represent the company positively and professionally. Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Maintain accurate records and files.
Required / Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or will obtain degree by May 2025
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.

Understanding of basic civil engineering theories and principles.
Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam and desire to complete PE license.
Understanding of basic principles of project management.
Experience in the utility industry.
Structural and geotechnical specialty

Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, clothing, earplugs, fall protection, work boots, etc.) as needed.
Working Conditions
Hybrid-Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. Projects are located throughout the Duke Energy Service Area (NC, SC, FL, OH, IL).
Travel to project locations will occasionally be required.
