Position : Court Receptionist
Starting Salary : Pay Grade 6 - starting salary $13.61 per hour.
Work Hours : 40 hours a week

GENERAL PURPOSE
Perform routine receptionist and clerical duties as required to provide information and direct visitors, phone calls and correspondence to appropriate areas.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under the general supervision of the Court Operations Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receive court visitors, phone calls and correspondence and assist the public by providing routine information concerning court services, schedules, processes and proceedings using the court computer information system.
Direct public to correct courtroom for court appearances.
Direct calls and visitors to appropriate offices and assist the public in accessing court records through the court computer information system;
direct public to assigned courtrooms.
Gathers and delivers outgoing mail from the courts to the mailroom and picks up in coming mail twice daily. Sort and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments and individuals.
Perform secretarial or clerical functions for various court offices including filing, data entry, typing of general and legal correspondence, court documents and reports, etc.

Update court docket displays to accurately reflect the current court calendar in real time.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education and Experience :
- A. Graduation from a high school;
- B. One (1) year of post high school training or experience in general office practice;
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures related to numeric and alphabetical filing systems; basic mathematics;
interpersonal communication skills; basic operations of personal computer or mainframe terminals and related software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; develop effective working relationships with elected officials, professionals, the public and fellow employees;
- operate a variety of types of standard office equipment; work quickly and accurately; maintain acceptable levels of efficiency while working with time pressures and deadlines;
maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues.
3. Special Qualifications :
Must be bondable.
Proficient keyboard and 10-Key skills.
Must meet all security requirements for access to NCIC reports including background check and fingerprinting.
4. Work Environment :
Incumbent of the position performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing.
Rapid work speed required to perform keyboard operations. Common eye, hand, finger, leg and foot dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking;
guided and creative problem solving.
