DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepares correspondence. Reviews and edits correspondence prepared by staff members, checks for correct grammar, proper format, and necessary attachments.
Maintains files of office records and correspondence, requiring the establishment of subject matter groupings in accordance with office needs.
Gathers and presents information from files and other sources to the supervisor.
Reviews incoming mail for proper distribution purposes.
Receives telephone calls and visitors. Gives out information regarding school and / or departmental activities and programs.
Refers calls or visitors to appropriate staff members.
Receives routine complaints from the public and refers to proper staff for official review and action.
Prepares agenda for office, departmental, or school staff meetings. Takes minutes and follows through on matters requiring correspondence.
Prepares assigned reports.
Maintains confidentiality of work-related matters.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement;
supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Upload copy of HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Applicant must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus.
