Director of Deli / Bakery :
As the Director of Deli and Bakery, you will oversee all aspects of sales and merchandising for the deli and bakery departments across the company’s grocery stores and affiliated markets.
This role demands a deep understanding of deli and bakery operations, market trends, and customer preferences. Collaborating with the head of sales and merchandising, you will craft a vision and strategy for the department.
You will ensure your team, both at the corporate office and store level, implements this strategy in line with the company’s high standards.
Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and profitability, meeting financial targets for the deli and bakery departments.
Create and execute merchandising plans that address evolving customer needs and align with the company’s vision.
Ensure product selections reflect current customer preferences and trends, with regular updates and maintenance.
Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales and maintain market competitiveness.
Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a proper assortment, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
Enforce quality control measures to ensure all products meet company standards for freshness, appearance, and food safety.
Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability, minimize waste, and maximize freshness.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Monitor competitors and stay attuned to customer trends to respond effectively.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as company policies regarding food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
Work closely with other departments and store management to develop and execute company programs and initiatives. Ensure alignment with the executive team’s objectives.
Embody and promote the company’s mission, vision, values, guiding principles, and house rules.
Director of Deli and Bakery :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of managerial or leadership experience in the deli and bakery industry.
Extensive knowledge and passion for the deli and bakery industry.
Strong leadership skills with a commitment to the company’s values and objectives.
Ability to achieve results through effective team collaboration.
Proficient in managing and organizing multiple projects concurrently.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Capability to synthesize complex data into actionable plans.
Strategic thinker with long-term planning abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requires travel to store locations and neighboring islands for implementation, maintenance, and training. Mainland and international travel may be needed for industry events.
A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is necessary. Periods off-island may be required for company initiatives.
Primarily office-based but may involve work in store environments.
Analyze data, interpret findings, and solve problems effectively.
Quick decision-making skills, sometimes with limited information.
Read and create reports, emails, documents, and presentations.
Public speaking skills for presenting information to various audiences
