DATA SCIENTIST ASSOCIATE

The Department of Neurology's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) seeks to hire a Data Science Associate tasked with design, implementation, use, security, and maintenance of data systems and applications for the ADRC's Data Core.
The position will work closely with Data Core faculty and will serve as the center's liaison to campus IT and HSIS. Provides support for the analysis, design, estimating, development, documentation, testing and implementation of new systems.
Provides maintenance and support for programs within existing systems. Oversees and manages security and integrity of data.
May require development and use of various software packages and systems. Acts as a direct liaison with user, technical support, training, and operations personnel.
Provides technical and administrative support to the division.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Under direction, oversee REDCap utilization for data entry and capture by the various Cores for ADRC projects to promote best practices of data management
- Under direction, develop and run QA / QC paradigms for data integrity (e.g. reconciliation of double data entry) of ADRC data for the Center Registry, the NACC Clinical Cohort, and auxiliary ADRC studies
- Under direction, oversee and maintain previously developed applications, reports and tools developed by the Data Core using R within the RStudio Connect environment
- Under direction and in collaboration with DOM-IT, oversee migration to a long-term relational database storage environment
- With minimal assistance, fulfill data query requests by ADRC investigators and staff in support of Center operations using established relational database management systems
- Work with the DMSC core lead and systems / data manager to develop new applications, reports, and other tools to support Center operations as directed by the various Cores
- With minimal assistance, conduct processing and export necessary for sharing with outside organizations such as NACC or other collaborators via RDMS
- Produces solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
- Uses a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
Evaluates and implements novel approaches to address aims and milestones to multilayered datasets.
- Generates and tests hypotheses and analyzes and interpret the results of experiments.
- Assists in documentation and reporting of results.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
The ideal candidate will be familiar with clinical study documentation medical terminology appropriate for the division.
Salary range : $77,640- $126,170
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in a related field OR Bachelor's degree in related field
- And two (2) years of related experience.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
