BBH is seeking a Vice President for the Corporate Advisory Group (CAG) which advises large and successful family-owned businesses on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and other strategic corporate decisions.

The CAG VP is a corporate finance professional that assists in performing company / industry research and valuation / financial analyses to develop relationships with private business owner clients and prospects of BBH’s Private Banking line of business.

The job scope involves delivering the type of analytical work found in investment banking but with an emphasis on transaction consulting instead of deal execution.

The metric used to track CAG’s success is the depth of client relationships, not transaction fees.

The role requires familiarity with corporate finance and business strategy consulting-oriented work, with an emphasis on understanding mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, capital structure, and related aspects of finance / corporate strategy.

The ideal candidate should have superior analytical skills and be able to express their thoughts clearly both verbally and in writing.

The CAG VP will report to a senior CAG officer but will assume a hands-on role in a team environment and interact with various other groups within Private Banking and the firm more broadly (e.

g., Multi-Family Office, Lending, Private Equity, Center for Family Business), as well as with external parties such as senior business executives, bankers, lawyers, private equity professionals, and other intermediaries.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as an objective advisor and drive the execution of client facing engagements with family-owned businesses related to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), financing and other strategic corporate transactions
  • Contribute to client relationship development through the delivery of high-quality advice and engagement execution
  • Lead preparation, review, and analysis of corporate and financial information (e.g., financial and valuation models, offer letters, confidential information memorandums) as well as company, industry, and M&A market research
  • Lead and mentor Analysts and Associates in the preparation of various financial and valuation analyses and client materials
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their other corporate advisors
  • Produce high quality written materials and take active role in delivery of client deliverables. Review and prepare memos and discussion materials for client meetings
  • Lead the writing and development of thought leadership relevant to corporate clients (e.g., corporate finance and family business articles, industry white papers, market commentary)

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced financial literacy. Must have seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a client-oriented position working on M&A and financing transactions, specifically with : Conducting company, industry, and M&A market researchBuilding financial models and performing valuation analyses (including company operating models, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout analysis)Developing client marketing and transaction execution materials assessing the client’s business, growth prospects, industry insights, valuation perspectives, strategic alternatives, and transaction process optionsPerforming due diligence on companies including reviewing corporate and financial documentsAnalyzing and developing recommendations regarding growth and investment opportunities

Salary Range

$130,000-$160,000

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations.

Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
