Behavior Support Trainer : Overview

SESI’s Behavior Support Team is committed to developing, implementing, evaluating, and constantly improving our multi-tiered Support, Prevent, Connectapproach to meet the behavioral and social-emotional needs of all SESI students.

The Behavior Support Trainer works closely with the Behavior Support Team and their assigned region(s) to establish, support, and evaluate the implementation of all Behavior Support Team initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Behavior Support Trainerinclude (but are not limited to) :

Working with assigned region(s), in-person and virtually, to : Train, model, and coach practices in the Support, Prevent, Connect approach.

Partner with local Behavior Leads (., Climate Managers, Team Leads, Behavior Specialists) to deliver and follow up on site-based trainings and systems.

Partner with local Behavior Leads to train and support data collection and evaluation (., Behavior Event Reporting, classroom observations, quarterly school plan updates, annual fidelity checklists).

Support other teams / departments with training, data, and other requests related to behavior support.

  • Travel to sites is required for this position; at least 75% of the trainer's time will be spent providing on-site coaching, modeling, and support.
  • Participating in weekly Behavior Support Team meetings; serving as a liaison and collaboration conduit between sites, Behavior Leads, and the Behavior Support Team.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Education / Experience

Required :

  • Masters’ degree in relevant field (preferred) or bachelors + applicable experience.
  • Experience serving students with challenging behavior (minimum of three years).
  • Experience delivering professional development, coaching staff who are implementing behavioral supports, and supporting staff behavior.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with data-based decision making and analyzing data to determine outcomes, evaluate supports, and create progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated behavioral expertise related to positive behavioral interventions and supports, crisis prevention, social emotional learning, mental health, coaching staff, and / or restorative practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the FullBloom Core Five values : humility, transparency, accountability, decisiveness, and inclusivity.
  • Geographical proximity to assigned region(s); target states include PA, MO, OH, TX, CO, MD, and AZ.
