Position Summary
The University at Buffalo is looking for a part-time experienced mathematics teacher for an afterschool math class at a grade level in the range 7-12.
The classes take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 : 30 . or from 6 : 30-9 . They run from September through April.
The Gifted Math Program works with 7th through 12th graders throughout Western New York who compete through rigorous testing to enter this program.
Responsibilities include :
- Preparing and Teaching for 5 hours of class time per week.
- Differentiating instruction for a diverse group of students.
- Communicating with students, parents, and GMP staff by responding in a timely way to emails and phone calls.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Posting grades and assignments on UB Learns in a timely way or supervising instructional assistant in doing this.
- Helping us with student individual needs through feedback, phones calls home, and conferencing.
- Helping students who are absent due to illness or mandatory school activities to obtain missing work.
