Principal Responsibilities :
DIRECTOR OF SPORTS & ADVENTURE (SEASONAL FULL-TIME)
The JCC Abrams Camp is currently seeking a Director of Sports & Adventure who is responsible for creating, managing, supervising, and executing the overall sports & adventure program.
Ensuring a fun, safe, and dynamic program for children ages 4-15 years old. This position works directly with the Camp & Program Director and Director Creative & Performing Arts.

Minimum Qualifications :
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Create & implement sports & adventure program
- Identify current trends and innovations in the field and on the court
- Lead, teach and supervise all sport & adventure activities
- Train staff to effectively run activities
- Run sports & adventure activities as needed
- Rainy Day Planning
- Organizing special events (color war, etc.)
- Oversee maintenance and care of the athletic facilities, equipment, and fields
- Conduct Staff Evaluations
- Maintain positive relationships with campers and staff
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the JCC Abrams Camp. This includes being responsible for campers' safety and well-being of every camper
- Be familiar with and implement camp policies and procedures
- Serve as a member of JCC Abrams Camps staff team
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE :
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with children.
- A strong background & experience in teaching, physical education, coaching and / or related fields
- Strong leadership, mentorship, communication, instructional, organizational, creative and critical thinking, collaboration, conflict resolution, and cooperation skills
- A team player with high energy who works well with others
- Ability to motivate, manage, and maximize the skills and talents of staff members
- 21 years of age or older
- Available June 24th to August 16th, 2024 (plus mandatory training, flexible dates)
