Northrop Grumman’s Armament Systems Business Unit is looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Specialty Engineering team in Plymouth, MN.
The Specialty Engineering team supports munition, fuzing, and weapon system development programs. Members of the Specialty Engineering team are Systems Engineers who support multiple engineering domains including : Systems Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Product Cybersecurity, Integrated Logistics Support, Product Support, Human Factors, and Unit Production Cost Modeling.
Responsibilities of the Position :
- Work with team members to plan and execute specialty engineering tasks from the Specialty Engineering domains to support a wide variety of programs.
- Perform detailed Specialty Engineering analyses in close collaboration with design engineering throughout weapon system development programs.
- Work within the Specialty Engineering team to identify applicable standards and guidance to apply to systems.
- Work with Systems Design Engineering team to define, track, and verify requirements that support system development objectives.
- Work with Test Engineering and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to define processes and procedures for safe conduct of test events and manufacturing of systems.
Minimum Qualifications Systems Engineer
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, plus 2 years of experience. Or, a master’s degree plus 0 years of additional experience.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
- Strong interest to work closely with engineers from various engineering disciplines.
- Strong interest to learn a wide variety of skills across multiple engineering domains.
- Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new toolsets.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications :
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Department of Defense product experience.
- Experience performing engineering analyses (e.g. Hazard Analysis, FMECA, Statistical Analysis, etc.).
- Relevant Specialty Engineering domain experience or certifications.
Salary Range : $83,300 - $124,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
