Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our dynamic WRAL-TV team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our technical facilities, with a focus on computer-based systems.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in troubleshooting and problem-solving, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities :

• Technical Maintenance :
• Contribute to the day-to-day technical maintenance of all equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio consoles, graphics systems, and other production equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Computer Hardware and Software Expertise :
• Utilize expertise in computer hardware and software to maintain and optimize related systems, including servers and workstations.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications.
• Configure and repair computer hardware, including replacement of parts in desktop, laptop, and rack-mounted servers.
• Technical Support :
• Provide technical support to staff during newscast operations.
• Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and enhance overall quality.
• Emerging Technologies :
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the facility.
• Emergency Response :
• Implement emergency response plans for technical failures or other critical situations.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and response to urgent technical issues.
• Documentation :
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Create and update technical manuals and training materials as needed.

Qualifications :

• Strong knowledge of signal flow, and production workflows.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
