This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to enter the dog care industry! Job Description : As a Small Dog PlayCare Attendant at Top Dog SF, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and active environment for our small canine clients.
You will be responsible for supervising playgroups, ensuring the well-being and safety of each dog, and maintaining a clean and organized play space.
Key Responsibilities : Supervise Playgroups : Oversee and manage small dog playgroups to ensure a safe and positive social environment.
Provide Basic Care : Feed, walk, administer medications (if required), and attend to the basic needs of the dogs in your care.
Maintain Cleanliness : Keep play areas, crates, and common spaces clean and organized to uphold a high standard of hygiene.
Monitor Health and Behavior : Observe and report any changes in behavior, health issues, or concerns to the management team.
Facilitate Play and Enrichment Activities : Engage dogs in play and enrichment activities to promote physical and mental stimulation.
Customer Interaction : Interact with pet parents, providing updates on their dog's activities and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
Welcome clients to the shop, check in on each specific dog and understand their needs, or check out each dog with the client in the computer software.
Basic computer skills are required; system-specific training is provided. About You : The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience : Experience : Previous experience in a dog care setting is preferred but optional, as we'll train you! Passion for Dogs : A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to their well-being.
Physical Fitness : Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Communication Skills : Effective communication and customer service with team members and pet parents.
Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently. Reliability : Consistent attendance and punctuality.
Interpersonal skills : Patience, empathy, and awareness. VERY apt at multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities at one time.

There are approximately two shifts per day, from 6 : 45 am until 3 pm. 7 hours a day with a one-hour lunch. The second shift is 12 : 30 pm to 6 : 30 pm with approximately 6 hours a day and 30 minute lunch.
We are open to hiring part-time (at least three days a week). Availability of 5 days a week is preferred, and the possibility of weekend shifts is forthcoming.
Applicants need to have three references with two of these references being previous workplace supervisors to move along in the hiring process.
