About The Position
Job Title : Clinical Nurse Job Specialty : MedSurg / Intermediate Care - Pulmonary & Nephrology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year in nursing License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC Must-Have : Ability to float to similar nursing units Job Description : Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process- Participate in identifying and meeting personal and professional learning needs - Attend education programs based on identified learning needs, utilizing patient education materials appropriately- Assess readiness and developmental level of patients / families / caregivers for learning- Identify expected patient outcomes and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and revise care plans as needed- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care- Demonstrate competence in providing care for patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs- Perform bedside point-of-care testing essential for patient care plans- Utilize healthcare standards, policies, and procedures in delivering care, organizing and prioritizing according to patient and family needs- Consult with appropriate resources promptly for complex care issues and high-risk discharge planning needs- Develop personal goals to promote professional growth, participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities- Effectively use communication systems and promote cost-effective care- Provide feedback to colleagues and adhere to public policy and regulatory guidelines- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment- Recognize and prioritize care needs through comprehensive patient assessment- Collaborate with patients and families to update care plans, utilizing multidisciplinary resources- Engage in continuous learning by reading relevant journals and contributing ideas for practice improvementPreferred qualifications include advanced certifications such as ACLS (AHA or ARC) and higher educational qualifications like a BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
