POSITION SUMMARY
The Professional Staff Nurse plans, delivers and evaluates nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of the Director and / or designee.
Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Licenses, Certifications and / or Registrations :
- Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Florida
- BLS by AHA
- ACLS within 6 months of employment / transfer
- Basic EKG
- Successful completion of GSMC Medication test
- Successful completion of GSMC EKG Test

0 to less than 6 months.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.
Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education :
Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience :
Preferred : Recent acute care experience.
Certifications :
Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;
CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
