Research Lab Technician II
The Department of Preventive Medicine of University of Southern California (USC) is in search of a Research Lab Technician who can assist with ongoing research on the underlying causes of human cancer.
The ideal candidate is expected to have working knowledge of and hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to, cell culture, and biochemical assays for detection of DNA damage, mutation, and aberrant gene expression.
Familiarity with microarray and / or next-generation-sequencing based methods is a plus.
Preferred Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field.
- One year of experience working in a research laboratory.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance evaluation.

Minimum Education : Associate's Degree. Specialized / Technical Training. Combined experience / education as substitute for minimum education.
Minimum Experience : 2 YearsMinimum Field of Expertise : Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols.
Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation ofresearch data. Preferred Education : Bachelor's DegreePreferred Field of Expertise : Bachelor Degree in related field can be substituted for minimum experience requirements.
A working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols is also required. Skills : Laboratory : General Laboratory Techniques.
