Position : Computer Applications Instructor
Location : Indian River State College, Pruitt Campus (Port Saint Lucie)

What You'll Do :

JOB SUMMARY :
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, ensuring they gain proficiency in various computer applications necessary for academic and professional success.
Maintain an organized and conducive learning environment. Ensure that all students are engaged and participating actively in the learning process.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Deliver engaging and effective instruction on computer applications, specifically focusing on the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Develop, update, and maintain curriculum materials, lesson plans, and course content to meet learning objectives and industry standards.
Evaluate students' progress through assignments, projects, and exams. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
Foster a positive learning environment by maintaining classroom discipline and managing student behavior.
Assist students with technical issues related to software and hardware used in the course.
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in computer applications and instructional methods. Participate in professional development opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
Assist in the development of customized training programs as needed.
Completes other all duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite products, with a strong focus on Excel Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in computer applications or related subjects, preferably in a post-secondary or adult education setting.
Excellent communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
Strong organizational skills, patience, and a passion for teaching and helping students succeed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
Ability to engage and motivate participants from diverse backgrounds
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach up, stoop ability to participate in physical activities related to teaching, the ability to lift an object of ten (10) pounds or less, and carry items in excess of ten (10) pounds.
It also requires manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
