Position Summary :
Responsible for the operation and driving of school buses and the safe transportation of students and other passengers.
All applicants must be at least 21 years old; have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. DTC offers part-time, split-shift opportunities that work well with other careers! We have opportunities for the stay-at-home parent as well as work for the recent retiree, all at competitive wages.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and continuously maintain and satisfy all requirements for Class B, C, and D licenses and S and P endorsements.
- Ability with training to safely operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment.
- Ability to interact positively with all students including students with disabilities or special needs.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to complete a background check, physical and tuberculosis test, and fitness for duty / drug screen.
Working Conditions :
Working conditions are normal for a school bus driver. Work involves driving buses and assisting passengers in a variety of driving and weather conditions.
