How you’ll make an impact : The Innovation Center at SiriusXM is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to be part of an engineering team working on the design and development of current and next generation radios, OEM modules and antennas for vehicle entertainment systems.

The Intern will work with a cross-functional design team to define requirements, implement mechanical designs, utilize CAD tools and 3D printers, test and validate designs, and analyze / resolve hardware failures.

What you’ll do : Identify issues and determine design direction, goals and tasks for segment of project assigned Generate and maintain schedules for your tasks and responsibilities Determine and implement changes to enhance design and / or meet functional specifications Meet any applicable cost goals Perform stress and tolerance analysis as required to ensure design feasibility Conduct environmental testing to product specification to ensure design robustness Fabricate prototypes as needed to support the development process Participate in Mechanical design reviews Interface closely with other teams such as Electrical, Manufacturing and Marketing, as well as suppliers and customers Complete technical assignments and document results in report form What you’ll need : You must be 18 years of age or older Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2026 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship Course of study in Mechanical Engineering or other STEM program Basic computer skills and working knowledge of common business applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

CAD skills, especially PTC Creo knowledge, are a plus Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Possess good written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment Good organizational and time management skills, including daily and weekly planning and multitasking Must have legal right to work in the U.
