Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC) and the Department of Surgery, Section of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in Roanoke, Virginia, are searching for a BC / BE otolaryngologist to join our growing team of nine otolaryngologists and seven advanced care practitioners in a hospital-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical otolaryngology.

Based in the 763-bed Level-1 trauma and academic / tertiary care health center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital / Carilion Children’s Hospital, our section provides comprehensive otolaryngology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area through three satellite clinics and three other Carilion hospitals.
Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our otolaryngologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.
The inpatient otolaryngology service is supported by four advanced care practitioners, and otolaryngology and plastic surgery residents.

We are actively involved in the education of medical students, residents from multiple CC-VTC and outside training programs, allied health science students, and Virginia Tech undergraduate and graduate students.
We currently provide clinical training for senior residents from the otolaryngology residency at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and our own general and plastic surgery residents with the goal of establishing our own residency program in the near future.

The position requires an academic appointment at VTCSOM.

- MD / DO, Board Certification / Eligible in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery
- Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in teaching and / or research
