Treatment
Counselor who has a passion for making lastingchanges in the lives of offenders, as we set the standards of carein the industry.
Thesuccessful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the followingfunctions at a pace and level of performance consistent with theactual job performancerequirements.
Interviews andassesses prospective program participants, and gathers data usingappropriate screening and assessment instruments.
Establishesrapport with participants and determines individual and group needs
based
on results of screeningand assessment instruments and other collateralsources.
Facilitates individual and group treatmentinterventions, in accordance with CoreCivic partner agencies, andprevailing state regulations, statutes, policies andprocedures.
Uses standardized offender assessment information indeveloping treatment plans or specificprograms.
Facilitates participant engagement in the treatmentprocess, promoting positive attitudes, skills, coping mechanisms toencourage on-going recovery.
Plans participant incentives and usesappropriate therapeutic tools to manage behavioral issues orconcerns.
Maintains the confidentiality of clinical files foreach participant to include, but not limited to, intake documents,assessment(s), and interview(s), treatment plan, treatment planreviews, progress notes, discharge summary, and referrals,according to written protocols and in compliance with prevailinglaws and regulation(s).
Documents and tracks treatment
plans,
monitors inmate progress andreviews status of inmates / residents to verify that treatment andtherapeutic programs arecompleted.
Qualifications :
Graduate from an accredited college or university witha Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or aclosely related field isrequired.
One (1) year of experience in the mentalhealth or substance use counseling field isrequired.
Additional qualifying experience may besubstituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-yearbasis.
Where applicable, must possess appropriatelicensure / certification.
A valid driver's licenseis required.
Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 18years of age.
