Engineering Manager, Conversion (Growth).

The Growth team at Squarespace is responsible for the customers journey from the moment they land on to the moment they subscribe to our services.

We also focus on improving product discovery : where we introduce existing customers to learn & engage with other parts of our platform that are relevant for growing their business.

This group is comprised of 4 cross-functional product engineering teams each with dedicated product managers, designers, content strategists, analysts, & engineers.

Squarespace is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Conversion teams. This includes our , where we help match customers to the right template for their industry & goals (e.

g. selling a product, booking an appointment), and the newly-launched a guided website design system providing professionally-curated layout & styling options to help customers build a unique online presence from the ground up.

As the engineering manager youd have the opportunity to lead teams on both of these surfaces in an experiment-driven way, that is core to helping entrepreneurs getting started on building their business & brand online.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Director, Growth.

You'll Get To

• Develop engineers across multiple teams through coaching, mentoring, & feedback
• Coach Team Leads & empower them to support & guide their teams
• Have regular 1-1s with team members, & take an active role in code reviews for team members
• Collaborate with your partners throughout the company to shape the team's roadmap
• Partner with other leaders to influence product, architectural & organizational choices
• Grow the technical expertise & development practices of your teams

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience, including managing a team with direct reports
• Communication & leadership capacity; ability to work with diverse company partners
• Experience building & managing a team of software engineers
• A deep passion for coaching impactful engineering teams

Engineers on Your Team Have

• Expertise in JavaScript, understanding of new ES6 concepts, & proficiency with React or similar user interface libraries.
• Solid knowledge of the DOM, HTML & CSS3
• Experience with Java, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, & distributed systems
• Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) development
• Developed features & create fulfilling user experiences
• A sincere commitment to crafting readable & reliable code

Cash Compensation Range : $185,500 - $299,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
